About the Event

The Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie is the German national selection orchestra for the youngest musicians and one of the largest string orchestras in the world.

It is made up of top talents and prize winners from German music schools and comprises up to 60 musicians. Wolfgang Hentrich has been the principal conductor of the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie since 2013. The young musicians meet several times a year for intensive rehearsal phases and concert tours. These have taken the German String Philharmonic to major festivals in Germany such as the International Bach Festival Leipzig, Young Euro Classic Berlin or the Dresden Music Festival and also to tours in Poland, China or Ecuador.
