About the Event
Immerse yourself in the stunning architecture of Berlin's breathtaking Konzerthaus Berlin for the ultimate concert set to awake your understanding of classical music.
The world‐famous ensemble of the Czech Chamber Philharmonic in Prague presents its vibrant New Year's concert. 'Fireworks of Classical Music': a dazzling evening of the most popular classical works by composers such as Georges Bizet, Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Jacques Offenbach, Vincenzo Bellini, Giuseppe Verdi and a selection of timeless melodies by Johann Strauss. The eight dancers of the Johann Strauss Ballet Prague performed a veritable dance firework display with varied choreography and multiple costume changes: sometimes colourful, clever and daring, and sometimes elegant, in a bewitching dream in white. An unforgettable start to the year with a concert evening that leaves nothing to be desired, either in terms of elegance or temperament.
The Konzerthaus Berlin is a concert hall situated on the Gendarmenmarkt, the most beautiful square in the city. Built in 1821, the structure initially served as a theater. Severely damaged in the Second World War, it was rebuilt as a concert hall in 1977, with a neoclassical interior, and changed its name to reflect its new function in 1994.
Consistently numbered among the top five concert halls in the world, the Konzerthaus hosts around 500 performances every year, ranging from symphony and chamber concerts featuring international stars to new music and children's concerts.
