About the Event

Anyone hearing Kimmo Pohjonen can safely forget everything they thought they knew about the accordion. Born and raised in a Finnish village, the »accordion punk« (»Die Welt«) is celebrated internationally as an exceptional artist. Pohjonen, who started playing the accordion as a child, rediscovered his instrument for himself later on, when he began to raze all its boundaries – through extended sounds (samples, loops and electronics), stylistic diversity (combining folk, classical, rock and techno) and breath‐taking stage shows – of which the Dresden audience can now finally convince itself, after the concert had to be postponed several times because of the pandemic.
