Classical Beats: Grandbrothers
About the Event
Ever since Erol Sarp and Lukas Vogel met in 2012, while studying at the Institute of Music and Media in Düsseldorf, they have joined musical forces at the piano and computer. The fascinating harmony of black and white keys and electronic elements illuminates the spectrum of their sound worlds, from pop to minimal music. For their current, third album, »All The Unknown«, the two musicians have intensified their sound: while so far only one concert grand, at home in their studio in Bochum, was featured, now it is two grand pianos and one upright which can be heard on the recordings, plus samples and loops. The atmospheric result leaves room for plenty of associations, demonstrating that an instrument’s sonic possibilities are indeed unlimited.
