About the Event
“Mozartini presents The Magic Flute” is a child‐friendly production by Austria's children's opera specialists Oper@Tee. In this unique performance, the young audience is actively involved in the world of Mozart's “Magic Flute” by spontaneously taking on small roles and helping to shape the plot. Of course, those who just want to watch will have just as much fun. Recommended for ages 4 to 12.
This form of children's theater is particularly valuable, as active participation promotes understanding and enthusiasm for music and theater. Children experience the opera not just as spectators, but as part of the story, which strengthens their self‐confidence and stimulates their creativity. By playing along, they learn musical and performing skills in a playful way. The opera also teaches important values such as friendship, courage and overcoming obstacles.
Seats are allocated on site. Every little guest is guaranteed a clear view. An entertaining children's introduction to the work takes place before the performance begins.

Storyline:
Prince Tamino gets lost in the forest and is rescued from a poisonous snake by the children. He falls madly in love with the image of Princess Pamina. Her mother, the Queen of the Night, asks him to free her daughter from the captivity of the sorcerer Sarastro. The merry birdcatcher Papageno is to accompany him. To help him, Tamino receives a magic flute from her and Papageno a silver glockenspiel. But both get lost in the forest.
Papageno meets Monostatos, Pamina's guardian. He is appeased by Papageno's chimes.
At the same time, Tamino tries out the flute. Soothed by the music, the animals of the forest show him the way to Sarastro's castle.
There, everyone learns why Sarastro had Pamina abducted. She is to become Tamino's wife and his successor as soon as he has passed the difficult tests. Tamino skillfully survives the great dangers and walks through fire and water.
Happy not to have to endure such trials himself, Papageno has one great wish: a wife like him, a Papagena! He plays his chimes and an ugly old woman appears. She threatens Papageno with imprisonment if he does not marry her. He then vows eternal fidelity, because he has nothing to lose. Then the old woman transforms into a beautiful young woman, in whom Papageno recognizes his long‐awaited Papagena.
