Plot
Scotland, 16th century.
A bitter feud rages between the Catholic nobles of the Ravenswood family and the Protestant Aston family. Lucia and Edgardo, however, have fallen in love despite all the hostility.
When Lucia’s brother Enrico finds out, he forges a letter accusing Edgardo of infidelity and forces his sister to marry Lord Arturo Bucklaw.
When Edgardo bursts into the wedding ceremony and curses Lucia, everyone is horrified.
In the bridal chamber, Lucia kills Arturo with a knife. Delusions overcome her. As a bell announces her death, Edgardo stabs himself.
