Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn & Brahms at St. Stephen’s Cathedral
Vienna, Stephansdom — main
About the Event
Listen to excerpts from Beethoven's 5th Symphony and Haydn's Cello Concerto, performed by the Barrington Youth Symphony Orchestra at Vienna's St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
The Barrington Youth Symphony Orchestra is the premier concert ensemble of the Barrington Music Institute. This carefully selected youth symphony orchestra from Illinois brings together talented string, wind and percussion students who are dedicated to performing challenging symphonic literature.
The repertoire for this evening spans a wide range from Viennese classical to romantic music and beyond: in addition to excerpts from Beethoven's symphonies, Brahms' variations on a theme by Haydn, Mozart's Ave verum and other melodious works will be performed, impressively demonstrating the stylistic diversity and expressiveness of the orchestra.
