Baroque music on original instruments: Mosaïque vocale
Vienna, Peterskirche — Krypta
About the Event
Baroque masterpieces played on original instruments bring the sound of the period in which they were composed to life and provide immediate access to the music of the 17th and 18th centuries.
The vocal highlight and conclusion of the series features the vocal styles of France, Italy, the German‐speaking region, and England side by side. Regional characteristics become audible when musical expression is closely interwoven with the rhythm, timbre, and intonation of the respective language.
Established as Austria's smallest opera house and concert hall, the performances in the KRYPTA captivate audiences with their intensity, high quality, and unusual venue. Located deep beneath Vienna's St. Peter's Church, the intimate hall offers a personal experience that attracts guests from all over the world.
The KRYPTA is pleasantly temperate in every season.
