Verdi's final masterpiece, crafted in 1893, makes its return to Teatro Filarmonico after a fifteen‐year hiatus. It invites comparisons to Salieri's rendition from a century earlier, inspired by Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor. Here, the spotlight is on the vibrant characters: the mischievous wives, the satire of serious opera and jealous husbands, and, most significantly, the persona of Falstaff, an aging nobleman who remains irrepressible.
