Antonio Vivaldi: L'Olimpiade
Verona, Teatro Ristori
About the Event
Experience the enchantment of baroque opera in the heart of Italy.
On the days when the Arena di Verona hosts the closing ceremony of the Milan‐Cortina Winter Olympic Games and the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games, the artistic and technical teams return to the Teatro Ristori for a long‐awaited premiere.
Written for Venice in 1734 and forgotten for over two hundred years, Vivaldi's L'Olimpiade is staged in the acclaimed and compelling Parisian production of the Théâtre des Champs Elysées.
Virtuosity, torment, mistaken identities, and twists and turns resonate in the city of Olympia among imperious rulers, courageous women, and valiant athletes. A unique opportunity to rediscover a Baroque gem with an exceptional cast, for the first time in Verona.
