An evening at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia with Lisette Oropesa — Grans Veus — becomes a voyage into bel canto’s golden age.
Bel canto queen Lisette Oropesa honours the Italian composers who made her famous worldwide: Donizetti, Bellini and Rossini, with arias from I puritani, L’elisir d’amore, Don Pasquale and La straniera, alongside pieces by Meyerbeer. Returning to Les Arts after her superb Manon and first recital, the American‐Spanish diva appears with the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, conducted by Italian specialist Corrado Rovaris, whose precise, elegant and vibrant baton is familiar in the world’s great opera houses and who has been Music Director of Opera Philadelphia for twenty seasons.
