Acclaimed Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen returns to Les Arts for the third time in a Wagner programme, conducted by Sir Mark Elder with the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana. The evening’s highlight is the finale of Die Walküre, where she sings the tormented Brünnhilde for the first time, before debuting the role at the Salzburg Easter Festival in 2027. Joining her in this sublime scene is British baritone Christopher Maltman, the most acclaimed Wotan of recent seasons. His rich, expressive voice and mastery of lieder blend perfectly with Davidsen’s brilliance and power. He will also join her in the Salzburg production.
