Valencia’s cultural skyline gains a fiery new dimension with Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia: La Leona — Olga Pericet, an electrifying flamenco performance at the city’s iconic architectural landmark.
Premiered at the Seville Biennial in 2022 and recently acclaimed in London and Paris, *La Leona* springs from an obsession: history’s most legendary guitar, La Leona, created by nineteenth‐century Almerían luthier Antonio de Torres and considered the model for the modern Spanish guitar. Dancer and choreographer Olga Pericet, winner of the 2018 National Dance Award, becomes both animal and instrument, exploring the ancestral roots of the flamenco body through a feminine perspective. In rondeñas, bamberas, fandangos and farrucas, her body engages with the musicians and singer Israel Moro’s voice in a journey shaped by myth and rebellion.
