About the Event
A new and remarkable perspective on the music of the legendary lead singer of Queen. The songs of one of the world’s most iconic rock vocalists have been arranged in a unique way for operatic singers and a classical string quartet. Inspired by the salon concerts of the nineteenth century—when classical music was considered popular entertainment—the performances take place in the most beautiful historic halls and palaces in Poland.
For this reason, alongside Mercury’s works, the program also includes selections of music composed for aristocrats and kings by G. F. Handel. Given Freddie’s origins, traditional Indian music will also be presented in a stunning piano arrangement. Freddie Mercury was a star of his era, much like Farinelli in the eighteenth century. Elegant halls and vast audiences connected these artists despite the centuries between them. Mercury was fascinated by operatic singing, as shown by his collaboration with the great opera soprano Montserrat Caballé.
Freddie’s songs will resonate through exclusive interiors with exceptional acoustics, creating an ideal atmosphere for a refined and sophisticated audience. The concerts follow the artistic project Freddie Mercury Rock‐Operowo, which premiered in 2013 at the Słowacki Theatre in Kraków, toured across Europe, and now—in a new form—continues as part of the 2025 European concert tour in cities such as Berlin, Rome, Paris, Milan, Prague, and Vienna.
This time, Queen’s music will be performed in an intimate, fully acoustic style illuminated by candle glow, highlighted through innovative arrangements and a remarkable ensemble of musicians from the Italian association Opera da Camera di Roma. For the first time in Poland, an extraordinary concert offering unforgettable impressions—an experience truly worth savoring.
