Yannick Nézet‐Séguin, Hélène Grimaud & Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest: Théâtre des Champs‐Elysées
About the Event
Yannick Nézet‐Séguin, the next Music Director of New York's Metropolitan Opera, conducts his Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra at Théâtre des Champs‐Elysées. French star pianist Hélène Grimaud will join the stage for Bartók's Piano Concerto No. 3.
In this moving program between light and darkness, dawn gradually appears in Mahler's Symphony No. 1 'Titan', reflecting an early and optimistic stage in the composer's life. In contrast, dusk imposes itself in Bartók's final concerto, a work created by a man who knew he was going to die.
