Wagner / Bruckner / Tjeknavorian: Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano

About the Event

In 1870, Richard Wagner crafted a charming instrumental piece, Siegfried Idyll, for 13 instruments as a birthday gift for his wife, Cosima, who had recently given birth to their dear son, Siegfried. The debut performance was staged as a surprise when Cosima awoke on Christmas morning at their family villa in Tribschen near Lucerne. While the Idyll carries a tender and emotional intimacy, it is intriguingly paired with a contrasting work: Bruckner's Seventh Symphony, which is grand and solemn, designed to captivate with its majestic sound and the spiritual power it exudes.
