The Neue Philharmonie Hamburg was founded in 2001 by freelance professional musicians from all over the world. Since then, the orchestra has earned and maintained a leading position in the North German music scene. It sees itself as a dynamic orchestra that can be expanded from smaller chamber orchestra ensembles to a large symphony orchestra with choir. However, the heart of the orchestra has always remained the chamber orchestra, which has hardly changed since its foundation and is very well rehearsed. With numerous guest appearances in Spain, France, Italy, and South Korea, it has gained a large circle of friends among its listeners. The musical direction is taken over by the orchestra's concertmaster, Tigran Mikaelyan.
