The Great Black Opera Voices from Africa, the United States and France, meet tonight for an exciting and engaging programme mixing great opera classics, traditional and sacred works from the African repertoire and, as a preview, excerpts from the new historic opera by Africa Lyric's Opera.
Works by Gershwin, Verdi, Mozart, Bellini, Purcell, Puccini, Bizet, Massenet, Donizetti, Rossini, Wagner, Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Dvořák and more.
Africa Lyric's Opera returns to the Théâtre des Champs‐Elysées for an exceptional charity evening, given jointly for the benefit of young lyrical artists of diversity, the construction of a music conservatory in Cameroon and the training of women in Africa in the field of high‐tech, one of the flagship programmes of Women Of Africa, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
