Teatro Filarmonico di Verona: Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto
About the Event
Experience the enchanting harmonies of classical music by luminaries such as Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Alberto Ginastera, Arturo Marquez, and José Pablo Moncayo at the historic Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, an esteemed venue globally celebrated for its cultural significance. Have you ever wondered about the unique sound of a legendary Stradivari violin? Over three centuries old, its remarkable tones will resonate through a performance by the internationally acclaimed German‐Italian violinist Augustin Hadelich. Making his first appearance with the Arena Foundation Orchestra, Hadelich, already named instrumentalist of the year by Musical America, will grace the stage with Tchaikovsky’s deeply romantic and thrillingly adventurous violin concerto.
In addition to this violin masterpiece, the event will traverse a landscape of vibrant rhythms and singular musical hues, creating an exotic and innovative program. Under the baton of celebrated Mexican conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto, in his inaugural performance in Verona, audiences will be treated to a selection of pivotal works that merge symphonic grandeur with native traditions from his country. Highlights include Moncayo’s Huapango and Márquez’s Danzón, pieces that have transcended their dancehall origins to achieve the stature of national emblems. The program also includes a nod to the avant‐garde with Ginastera’s suite from the ballet Estancia, rounding out what promises to be a sublime auditory celebration to cap the Arena Foundation’s vibrant symphonic spring season.
