Sunday Concerts at Conway Hall: Greenwich Trio & Boris Bizjak
About the Event
In this highly‐anticipated concert, hear the mellifluous sounds of chamber music by Franz Schubert, Ludwig van Beethoven, Maurice Ravel and Marcus Barcham Stevens at London's treasured and world‐renowned Conway Hall.
The Greenwich Trio is no stranger to Conway Hall, and their accomplished, engaging performances are always well received. In their return to our concert series, they are joined by flutist Boris Bizjak, who was praised by Gramophone for his 'freshness and originality.' The repertoire selection is extremely diverse, ranging from Hummel's imaginative arrangement of Beethoven's early Septet to a new work written especially for tonight's musicians by Marcus Barcham Stevens. Schubert's 'Dry Flowers' Variations provide ample opportunities for impressive virtuosity by both flutist and pianist, while Ravel's 'Mother Goose Suite' closes the evening. This presents an arrangement that uniquely combines the beauty and intimacy of the original piano duet with the color and magic of the orchestral version.
