Special Offer! — L'Autre Voyage: Opéra Comique
About the Event
Raphaël Pichon and Silvia Costa are eager to provide a stage for the Viennese composer that brings him closer to the audience. They have unearthed forgotten scores, jewels of lyricism and melancholia, from which emerge the ghosts of a masterpiece.
The production, titled 'Lyrical Scenes,' features music by Franz Schubert and texts by renowned authors such as Heine and Goethe, among others. Schubert, unfortunately, only completed half of his lyrical projects, with only a few being taken to the stage. However, these incomplete works contain exceptional treasures that deserve recognition.
The narrative of the production follows the journey of a creature haunted by the realization of finitude. Through music, the creature tries to understand its own existence and mortality.
Additionally, in the depths of the dark night, a forensic doctor is confronted with a body that turns out to be his own double. This unexpected encounter triggers a moral and emotional dissection for the doctor as he grapples with his memories, death, and oblivion.
Overall, this production pays tribute to Schubert's incomplete works of art and explores themes of human existence and mortality.
