Sharing over ten years of musical collaboration, Sol Gabetta and Bertrand Chamayou, both born in 1981 and of the same astrological sign, are united by a love for composers like Chopin, dedicating a 2015 album to him, and Mendelssohn, whose complete cello and piano works they've recorded, integrating modern composers to bridge historical and contemporary sounds.

Their Bologna performance mirrors their thematic album, bookended with Mendelssohn’s Variations op. 17 and Sonata op. 57. The event includes new adaptations of his Lied ohne Worte by Wolfgang Rihm and Jörg Widmann, centering around Brahms’ dynamic and powerful Sonata No. 2.
