SlamConFusion 'Carmen' and Poetry Slam at Gewandhaus
About the Event
Carmen, from the opera of the same name, describes love as a wild bird that is better left untamed. And so she seduces and abandons her lovers at a rapid pace. What does this strong woman from Bizet's opera tell us today? What is love like today? Four slam poets share their perspectives on toxic or healthier role models and, yes, love. Their texts meet the famous music from Bizet's “Carmen” and the “L'Arlésienne” suites with wit, energy, and momentum. An evening for big emotions and new discoveries.
