Sinfonisches Kammerorchester Berlin: Stabat Mater at St. Marienkirche

About the Event

In this highly‐anticipated concert, hear the mellifluous sounds of baroque chamber music by Arcangelo Corelli and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi at Berlin's treasured and world‐renowned St. Marienkirche Berlin.

The Sinfonisches Kammerorchester Berlin debuts in St. Mary's Church with music for Memorial Day. The program includes two baroque masterpieces by Corelli and Pergolesi. The 'Stabat Mater' is said to have been Pergolesi's last composition, completed on his deathbed, much too early. Devotional and lively is his 'Stabat Mater', which made the composer immortal. The Concerto Grosso in C minor by Corelli rounds off the program with its short, no less emotional motifs. This concert invites to contemplation, with a music whose emotionality no one can escape.
