Richard Wagner, Parsifal in Madrid
About the Event
Enjoy Wagner's great opera "Parsifal" in a concert version at the magnificient Teatro Real in Madrid.
The luxury of listening to Mathias Goerne with Angela Denoke, under the baton of Thomas Hengelbrock, promises another unforgettable evening. And more still if it's under the musical legacy of Richard Wagner, who in his last opera, Parsifal, leaves a testimony of his complex mentality. Buddhism, Christianity, Philosophy and medieval tradition fall into a work in which time merges with the space.
To celebrate Wagner's Year, Hengelbrock has reconstructed the original instruments used at its premiere in 1876.
