Osterfestspiele Baden‐Baden: Anton Bruckner — Sinfonie Nr. 8

About the Event

Enthusiastic public — appalled critics. This is how one could summarize the reactions to the premiere of Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 8. Today, the symphony is considered one of the most important monuments of musical art. The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra has turned Amsterdam into a Mecca for Bruckner fans. Klaus Mäkelä wants to continue this tradition and is bringing the “opus summum” by the Austrian court organist and Wagner admirer to the orchestra's debut at the Baden‐Baden Easter Festival.
