The Finnish conductor Mikko Franck leads the Orchestra of Radio France in a work that epitomises this ability, and was revolutionary in its day, Debussy’s Prélude à l’après‐midi d’un faune and Sibelius’ Fifth Symphony. Star cellist Sol Gabetta joins the orchestra for Shostakovich’ impassioned Second Concerto.
