Her lyrical, luminous tone and seemingly boundless dynamic range are incomparable and unique. “Lioness of the keyboard” Khatia Buniatishvili is an exceptional presence in international concert halls – her search for an inner connection to the work she plays and the composer she interprets is intense and deeply personal: “We are at the service of music and composers, but as mediators between them and the audience, we also reveal our own emotions. In a way, this makes us vulnerable, but at the same time it creates a deep, human connection,” said the Georgian pianist in an interview with BR‐Klassik.
The pianist will be performing twice in Berlin in the coming season in different constellations:
At her piano recital in December, Buniatishvili's passion and virtuosity as a soloist will be heard emphatically. In March, she will join the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande under the baton of principal conductor Jonathan Nott to explore Johannes Brahms' magnificent Piano Concerto No. 2, the solo part of which the composer himself played at its premiere in 1881.
