NY Phil: Stravinsky & Marsalis

About the Event

Music lovers and those eager to explore the captivating world of orchestral compositions shouldn't miss the 'NY Phil: Stravinsky & Marsalis' event at the renowned David Geffen Hall. Stravinsky’s Petrushka narrates a whimsical tale of puppets springing to life, brought to existence by the composer's distinctively vibrant score. Violinist Nicola Benedetti will perform a jazz‐inspired concerto specifically composed for her by the talented Wynton Marsalis, who is both composer and trumpeter. The program, conducted by David Robertson, kicks off with Lakeside Game, a new piece by Caroline Mallonee, commissioned as part of the NY Phil’s Project 19.
