Mozart's Coronation Mass: Stephansdom Vienna

About the Event

Mozart's great Coronation Mass and works by Händel and Sulzer will resound in St. Stephen's Cathedral under the baton of Gerald Wirth.

The Coronation Mass is one of the big jewels in the century old treasure of sacred music. The evening will be complemented by the Coronation Anthems "Zadok the Priest" and "The King shall rejoice" by Händel. On the occasion of the 80th birthday of the Austrian composer Sulzer, his "A progenie in progenies", composed in 2005, will be performed by the chamber orchestra.

Under the baton of Gerald Wirth, artistic director of the Vienna Boys' Choir, the Sing mit! Festival Choir and renowned soloists will be accompanied by the St. Stephan Cathedral Orchestra.
