Mandelring Quartett at Philharmonie Berlin
About the Event
According to the renowned Spanish magazine Scherzo, the music produced by the Mandelring Quartet can be described as a "luxurious poetry of sound." Their performances not only reveal the emotional depth of the compositions, but also showcase the richness and complexity of the works. A review from Der Tagesspiegel states that the ensemble possesses a deep understanding of the subtle nuances that distinguish top‐tier quartets from their counterparts in the string quartet genre.
Since 1997, the Mandelring Quartet has organized its own festival in Neustadt an der Weinstraße. Additionally, their concert cycles in the chamber music hall have become an integral part of Konzertdirektion Adler's concert program since 2018. As the ensemble celebrates its 40th anniversary on stage in the current season, their Berlin audience can anticipate a special anniversary concert next spring as a grand finale.
In collaboration with actor Max von Pufendorf, the Mandelring Quartet will embark on an exploratory journey through the world of Franz Schubert, utilizing rarely performed works, letters, and contemporary documents. This unique approach aims to provide the audience with a fresh perspective on Schubert's music and life.
