Malta Philharmonic Orchestra: Valletta Baroque Festival
About the Event
The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will perform works by Bach, Gluck and Vivaldi's beloved "Four Seasons" under the baton of Michael Laus at the opening concert of the Valletta Baroque Festival.
Built at the height of the baroque period in 1565, Valletta not only served as a powerful fort, but also became a centre for culture, economics and politics in the world. The Valletta International Baroque Festival has been conceived purposely as a celebration of this baroque identity of Valletta.
During the two week festival, Valletta will resound with music from the period when it was built. The high calibre programmes will be held at the Teatru Manoel, one of the oldest working theatres in Europe, and in magnificent cathedrals and atmospheric Valletta churches. Enjoy wonderful orchestral concerts, chamber music, opera and theatre performances at this year's Valletta International Baroque Festival.
