Surrender to the overwhelming power of Messiaen and Bruckner at their most expansive. With the apocalyptic scope of both Bruckner's colossal Eighth Symphony and the multi‐layered Couleurs de la Cité Céleste, Sir Simon Rattle tests the limits of the orchestra he will lead from 2017, and adds a guest artist in the form of Pierre‐Laurent Aimard, a renowned interpreter of contemporary works.
