Celebrate the blending of music and dance, entertainment and advocacy, as John Adams conducts the French premiere of his violin concerto 'Sheherazade.2' with Leila Josefowicz as soloist.

Adams' 'Sheherazade' is everywoman, but especially those women whose freedoms and rights are threatened by fanaticicm of all kinds. Nodding to the revolutionary impact of Bartók and Stravinsky on the symphonic ballet in the early 20th Century, Adams pairs his work with the Russian's 'Orpheus' and Bartók's 'Hungarian Sketches'.
