Liszt / Rota / Dvorak / Cafiero: Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano

About the Event

A solo double bass? While it's not typically featured in this role, the double bass boasts a deep, richly appealing tone. This instrument has navigated centuries of music, triumphantly entering the worlds of jazz and cinema, where it embraces a new soloist vocation. Showcasing its myriad tonal nuances will be virtuoso Dominik Wagner, a premier Austrian double bassist celebrated for his extraordinary technical skill and dedication to establishing the double bass as a solo instrument. Wagner is set to perform Nino Rota's Divertimento concertante for double bass, a piece that accentuates the instrument's extraordinary expressive capacity, alongside Franz Liszt's Orpheus and Dvořák's Symphony No. 6. He will perform under the brilliant baton of Clelia Cafiero, whose career is noted for the versatility and elegance she brings to both operatic and symphonic repertoire.
