Lebensmelodien at Gewandhaus
About the Event
The project 'Lebensmelodien' performs Jewish melodies that were composed and sung, sometimes also written down, in the period from 1933 to 1945. The Lebensmelodien are musical works that for the most part have been forgotten and are now, more than 77 years later, to be heard again. Since 2022, the Life Melodies team has been conducting workshops at schools in addition to concerts. Through the concerts and the educational project, Lebensmelodien provides an insight into Jewish culture and contributes to an active culture of remembrance in Germany and the fight against anti‐Semitism.
