Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Joana Mallwitz: Short concert in the early evening

About the Event

In this highly‐anticipated concert, hear the mellifluous sounds of classical music by Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky and C. F. Kip Winger at Berlin's treasured and world‐renowned Konzerthaus.

Short and sweet — the new short concerts. Starting at 6:30 pm, without intermission. For those who want a dose of culture right after the workday, without scheduling the evening.

This time you will have the opportunity to meet the newly appointed chief conductor Joana Mallwitz. She conducts the Konzerthausorchester in Stravinsky's 'Le sacre du printemps,' which was premiered in 1913 by Sergei Djagilev's Ballets Russes at the Théâtre des Champs‐Elysées, choreographed by the great dancer Nijinsky. The provocative ballet and the completely unfamiliar musical language brought the Paris premiere audience to a frenzy — partly with enthusiasm, partly with indignation. The scandal died down within a short time, however, and 'Sacre' became one of the great masterpieces of the 20th century. Before that, 'Conversations with Nijinsky' can be heard, which rock musician C.F. Kip Winger wrote for classical orchestra in 2016.
