'Kelemen Quartet +' at the Budapest Spring Festival

About the Event

Hungary's most exciting quartet is joined by renowned colleagues.

All four of the Kelemen Quartet’s members are prizewinning Hungarian musicians, admired as soloists and as chamber players, and close‐knit both professionally and personally.

For this concert, they're joined by cellist Jonathan Cohen, and Hungarian colleagues, the Nyári Quartet and mezzo soprano Szilvia Vörös.

The programme bridges the divide between the gracefully classical Haydn, through Mendelssohn's octet (requiring two string quartets), then Schubert's famous String Quintet (recently voted as the UK's favourite chambert work), and including the definitely Romantic Respighi's chamber cantata: Il Tramonto — 'Sunset'.
