Jordi Savall: Don Quixote, Accademia Filarmonica Romana
About the Event
Jordi Savall restores Quixote's musical universe to its original splendor!
"In a village of La Mancha, the name of which I have no desire to
call to mind, there lived not long since one of those gentlemen that
keep a lance in the lance‐rack, an old buckler, a lean hack, and a
greyhound for coursing…."
So the beginning of Don Quixote.
Jordi Savall has been reading this wonderful book in search of the music, Miguel de Cervantes (1514‐1616) wanted to accompany his narrative. European and Arab music, love songs of medieval knights, baroque dances and battles will live again in a performance punctuated by readings of parts of the text.
