Johann Strauss' A Night in Venice: Opéra National de Lyon

About the Event

Let yourself be seduced by Strauss' vision of the Venice Carnival, in a new production by Peter Langdal and under the direction of Daniele Rustioni, future Chief Conductor of the Opéra de Lyon.

Behind their carnival masks, the characters of Strauss' opera seduce and deceive, in a series of delicious confusions born out of the jealousy of old Delacqua and his desire to conquer the beautiful Barbara. This story set in the Venetian lagoon reveals unmistakable Viennese accents.
