Jiri Kylian, Kaguyahime: Paris Opera Ballet

About the Event

The Paris Opera Ballet presents Jirí Kylián's 'Kaguyahime', a work of singular beauty which expresses the choreographer's fascination for Japanese culture.

In a dream‐like atmosphere, Kylián accompanies the passage on Earth of a princess from another world. This artist of pure lines skilfully plays with light and subtly mixes traditional Japanese and Western music to create a fantasy world. The fluid dance is sometimes languorous and enigmatic, sometimes swept up by the frenetic rhythms of percussion and the rolling of drums, translates moods and emotions.
