Bozar is delighted to showcase the world‐renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra once more. This premier New York group has long been a cornerstone of the big band genre, offering performances of iconic pieces from Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, and Ornette Coleman, alongside fresh commissions. Emblematic of both authenticity and inventive flair, the orchestra embodies the same values of spirited tradition and commitment to artistic brilliance that are closely aligned with artistic director, Wynton Marsalis. An illustrious trumpet player and composer, Marsalis boasts an impressive tally of nine Grammy Awards and a Pulitzer Prize for Music, epitomizing the essence of American traditional jazz since the 1980s. At Bozar, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra will perform a captivating program including Marsalis’ The Democracy! Suite followed by the full orchestra engaging in an energetic swing performance.

Wynton Marsalis graces Bozar with his presence during two special events. On March 28, he will perform with both the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and the Belgian National Orchestra, presenting his Fourth Symphony (The Jungle) and the Belgian premiere of his Violin Concerto in D major, featuring Nicola Benedetti.
