An exciting new programme of authentic folk dance on an impressive scale.

Folk dance and music have become interesting again, with young creative artists discovering them. Authenticity is key to the new production of the Honvéd Dance Theatre, and a special emphasis is placed, in addition to the spectacular stage set, on presenting some of the most unique and impressive costumes of the Carpathian Basin in their original form, as the wear of the Matyós, and of the regions of Kalocsa and Kalotaszeg.

The programme invites the viewers on a journey during which the treasures of folk art can be “rediscovered,' their beauty and message appreciated. The first part of the show will be created by guest choreographers, while the second part comprises director‐choreographer Zoltán Zsuráfszky’s interpretation of Kodály’s Peacock Variations.
