Gluck, Mozart, Bach: Goodwin & Konzerthausorchester

About the Event

Works by Gluck, Mozart, and J.S. Bach are featured on the program of the Konzerthausorchester under the baton of Paul Goodwin.

Vienna has long been the musical capital of Europe. Christoph Willibald Gluck composed here in the 18th century and paved the way for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who until his death in Vienna spurred his musical mischief from 1781. The two works by Mozart which will be performed were written earlier, still in the Salzburg period. Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach had no connection to Vienna, and is still considered a pioneer of Viennese classicism which came to full bloom in Mozart's music.
