Debussy, Pierné, Chopin & Fauré: Bru Zane Palace
About the Event
Enjoy piano music by Debussy, Pierné, Chopin and Fauré at Palazzetto Bru Zane in Venice.
The waltz became the most popular dance in romantic Europe: first reserved for high‐ranking salons, it conquered the popular ballrooms in the second half of the 19th century. Chopin's waltzes are no longer intended for dancing, but rather evoke the elegance of the upper class and at the same time express the longing of a musician who will never see his native Poland again. The waltzes of the French authors at the turn of the century portray an idealized past in a world that is becoming ever faster.
