Combattiento, Monteverdi: Festival Castell Peralada 2016
About the Event
Monteverdi's dramatic and emotional "Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda" comes to the Peralada Festival in a staged concert at the Carmen Cloister.
Conductor Fausto Nardi and stage director Joan Anton Rechi collaborate with soprano Sara Blanch in this poetic interpretation of Monteverdi's expressive music. "Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda" (1624) is an excellent example of Monteverdi's revolutionary style. The story reflects on the nature of love, loss, and relationships.
