Riccardo Chailly conducts the Orchestra of La Scala Milan in a beautiful program of works by Mendelssohn and Mahler in the Kulturpalast Dresden.

After the famous Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, interpreted by the Australian‐Taiwanese star violinist Ray Chen, the Italian guests invite the audience into the fascinating sonic world of Gustav Mahler’s First Symphony, whose opening notes seem to emerge as if from a fog.
