Chaplin in concert: With a Smile
About the Event
Chaplin transcends his roles as a composer and film director, embodying a profound grasp of rhythm and emotion in his cinematic works. His quintessential image powerfully captures the universal human struggles with affection, scarcity, impoverishment, autocracy, and capitalism. The adventures of the Little Tramp, marked by both triumphs and setbacks, unfold with the finesse of a well‐rehearsed dance. Yet, Chaplin — With A Smile doesn’t serve as a historical or biographical “concert documentary.” It is, instead, an exploration of the multifaceted brilliance of Chaplin: the actor, the director, the humanist, the clown, the dancer, the artistic rebel, the conceited personality, the musician.
