Bösendorfer Series: Frank Braley

About the Event

Immerse yourself in the stunning architecture of Amsterdam's breathtaking De Waalse Kerk for the ultimate concert set to awake your understanding of music.

Frank Braley brings absolute audience favorites to The Walloon Church this evening. Before intermission, the focus is on Viennese composers with works that each have an improvisational character. Starting with Schubert's intimate Impromptu in c minor, followed by Beethoven's 32 Variations, his greatest tribute to the Baroque. Braley then plays a selection of Brahms' last piano works, op.116‐119, which are among his most beloved piano works. After intermission, the contrast could not be greater: Debussy's feeling préludes versus Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue swinging out of the church! With Braley's distinct musical views marked by humor, poetry, modesty, grace and unwavering sincerity, it promises to be a special evening.
