Haydn's “Farewell Symphony” hits the nail on the head in this concert: the Cappella Andrea Barca, founded by András Schiff, is disbanding after a good quarter of a century. But first, they want to show once again how brilliant Mozart playing works on a farewell tour. András Schiff originally put the ensemble together to perform the Salzburg composer's piano concertos in the best possible way. The recordings became cult classics, as did the pianist's selected concert performances with his ensemble. It doesn't get much better than this.
